Nikolai once Blinked all over different worlds to research as a xenozoologist, taking down information of all kinds of animal life both dangerous and benign. Unfortunately a bad accident during one of his travels instilled a bone-deep fear within him that makes him unable to continue his research. Nowadays, Niko helps other cossets with their cosprouts (including a well-known shepard named Lennox) and is working on immortalizing his past findings through writing up research papers for various archives. 

Niko lives in a small wood cabin in a forest with Reeve , the two getting along suprisingly well because of their hidden similarities.
