Nikolai found solace in Reeve's isolated cabin after The Accident. He was surprised at first when he realized the small dwelling WAS actually already in use, but Reeve's blunt acceptance of Niko's presence put the latter at ease and the two slowly got close, with Niko developing feelings for Reeve that he refuses to bring up lest it complicated their comfortable arrangement.

Nikolai is Emrys' younger sibling! They are very different; not only in the more obvious ways like the fire / water theming, but also the blue/red, cat/dog, introvert/extrovert ways. Despite being so different, the two have always got along and still keep in touch well into adulthood.
