Cossetlings is a laidback ARPG involving the titular Cossetlings, a closed species.

An ARPG, or art roleplaying game, is an interactive art-focused rpg when you can receive in-game currencies, items, and other rewards by completing prompts and other activities. A closed species are adoptables with shared design elements in a world with its own lore. You need permission from the species creator to create your own and participate in the world, usually with a MYO (make-your-own) item.

✿ Basics

After registering, make sure to verify your email address and then link a toyhou.se or deviantart account. This is required to access all site features. Do note while making a deviantart is free, toyhou.se requires an invite code.

Feel free to explore the site at your own pace! It’s highly recommended to read ‘What makes a Cossetling a Cossetling’ and ‘A Brief Memory’ to familiarize yourself with cossetlings and their world history.

There's also some important terminology related to the Cossetlings ARPG.

MYO: Appreviation for Make-Your-Own, a term used for items that allow you to create your own cossetling

Souvenirs: Items that allow you to add various traits to a cossetling

Cosprouts: Little pets for cossetlings, can be transformed into heralds

Seasonal: Items/Cosprouts that are only available for at a certain time, usually a real-world season

2-icon.png Goldleaves is the main in-game currency. They can be earned by completing prompts, partipating in events, and other site activites. Goldleaves is the most common currency and used to purchase most items from shops.

6-icon.png Gratitude is a secondary currency earned by doing nice things on-site. This includes submitting gift art to 'A Nice Thought', helping out NPCs and other cossetlings by completing dailies, and by owning cosprouts. Gratitude can be used to purchase MYO items.

Event Currency is non-tradeable currency only available during events. It can be used to purchase exclusive event souvenirs, items, and cosprouts. The event currency changes with every event so make sure to check the news!

✿ How to obtain a Cossetling

There's a few ways to obtain a cossetling of your very own!

✿ Purchasing a MYO item with USD during time-limited sales or with in-game currency from Whitley's Farm when available.

✿ Purchasing an official cossetling design from an official or guest artist. Check to see if there's any available on the Sales page.

✿ Obtain one as a prize from a raffle, giveaway, or event.

✿ Recieve one from another user by trade, purchase, or gift.

Do note, not all prompts or site activites require you to have your own cossetling. You're free to use any NPC or another user's cossetlings with permission. :)

✿ to-do list

There's lots to do on Cossetlings! First thing, if you're new, is to claim your free Welcome Gift from Cosette. She'll give you 50 goldleaves to get started. ^-^ From there, you can do...

Dailies: Work with Whitlea every day to earn gratitude with a weekly bonus for not skipping a day! You can also gain gratitude from fellow cossetlings by completing their requests listed in the Help Wanted ad.

There's also be an event daily where you can collect event currency for free for the duration of the event with a goldleaves bonus for not skipping a day. This daily changes with each event as does the currency it gives out.

 

Prompts: Complete General Prompts at any time for various rewards. These prompts are often repeatable and the General Prompt is available for General Gallery submissions.

 

Events: Complete limited-time Event Prompts for goldleaves, event currency, and sometimes a keepsake for your cossetling! You'll earn an additional goldleaves and event currency reward for completing all of an event's prompts along with an exclusive memento to be displayed on your profile.

 

Traveling: Have your cossetling (or NPC) hop on a train three times a day and they'll travel to various locations on Latorre, bringing back various goodies that can be sold directly from your inventory or in your user shop for goldleaves.

 

Spellcasting: Cossetlings are natural spellcasters and with that you can create Enchanted Items and Magic Food which can be sold directly from your inventory or in your user shop for goldleaves. You can even enchant cosprouts, changing them into new forms!

 

Shopping: Spend your hard-earned goldleaves and gratitude in various shops for MYO items, souvenirs, cosprouts, and more! If you're looking for something in specific, you can set up a trade at the Trade Plaza or peruse other user's shops in the Farmer's Market.
