Potion Brewing
A witch – it’s a title many have heard from tales of Earth. They are known to be blessed with magic, often lending a hand to those who seek their assistance.
A witch – that’s what the Yun family is known for, and that is who Yun Yoo-ah refers to herself as.
In the stories of Earth, Yoo-ah has heard that witches are often associated with kattes. While Yoo-ah considers herself a witch, never once has she ever considered accepting a cosprout of her own. However, it seems that fate has something else planned, or perhaps the story of a witch and a katte’s bond is simply assured.
Still, Yoo-ah wouldn’t say that she finds displeasure in a cosprout’s companionship. If anything, it’s rather… pleasant to have someone by her side as she combs through the herbs she gathered.
“In-soo, that herb’s not for you to eat.” Yoo-ah tuts, catching the katte in the act of trying to nibble on a bowl of yarrow. The cosprout makes a noise of complaint, only to be met with a bop on the nose. “No means no, In-soo. I need those for potions.”
A little chuckle escapes Yoo-ah’s lips when the katte pouts. She shakes her head, then moves to collect the bowls of sorted herbs into her arms. Then, she glances over at In-soo and hums.
“Are you going to come help out with the potions or are you going to keep pouting?"
The katte’s ears perk after hearing her words, bright green eyes widening in excitement before it leaps off of the table and onto the floor. It doesn’t wait for Yoo-ah and hurries itself to the brewing table, using the boxes stacked up to leap itself up there and sitting itself right next to the pot.
Cute. In-soo’s enthusiasm sure does bring a smile to Yoo-ah’s face.
Yoo-ah can see the way In-soo’s tail wags impatiently while she preps everything they need to create a potion. Well– potion is a term Yoo-ah’s family uses, but it would be more accurately known as medicine. A simple cold medicine – that’s what they will be brewing today.
“Now then…” Yoo-ah hums, placing the ingredients she needs into the mortar before setting the pestle down. “Want to help me crush these?”
In-soo lets out a noise of excitement in response to her words. It leaps onto its hind legs and places both paws on the pestle, using its entire body weight to move it around as best as it could. While it’s not exactly the most effective, Yoo-ah doesn’t try to interrupt ; allowing In-soo to continue on until it’s satisfied with its work.
“Wonderful job, In-soo!” Yoo-ah praises, giving the katte a little pat on the head when it looks up at her expectantly. “You did so well. I’m proud of you.”
Yoo-ah can tell that In-soo is happy from the purrs it lets out and it fills her with just as much merriment.
“It kind of feels like having a child sometimes…” She murmurs under her breath, giggling. In-soo tilts its head at her and she only smiles, giving it another pat on the head.
“Let's get this potion done together.”
