Pumpkin O Clock

Darren was staring down at his lapito, they were smacking a flyer for his attention making him sigh out a bit as he wanted to relax on his day off "What, what do you want this time" he said this with love as any pet owner knows what it's like when pets get like this "You want up the couch? you know you can get up there on your own" Usa shook her head and smacked at the flyer again a few more times making him lift her up and the flyer too "Lemme guess a donut sale?" not exactly but it is a food flyer! It was an ad for a pumpkin patch event, buy one get one half off.

"What? You want to grab a pumpkin?" Oh actually a warm hearty pumpkin soup with vegan fish like ingredients sound nice or a pie, a faux herring and pumpkin pot pie also sounded good but Usa shook their head and started to bunny punch them to think again but he was busy thinking of dinner for tonight "Alright alright we'll go, we can grab a few" he got paid his usual amount from that guy who buys glass frogs from him, seriously what is he doing with them all?? he hopes they're at least covered as they'll start a fire if hit by sunlight.

Dressing up Usa in a nice little outfit cause she wants to look her cutest while in public, she is slightly vain but that's what's charming about her while darren carried her to farm area where all the pumpkins were being sold, a pumpkin patch at this time of year? oh i guess time really doesn't stop coming not that he paid attention to it all that much, everyday blurred together and that's how he liked it or so he tells himself, there sometimes feels like there's a part of him missing but unsure on what but having usa with him helped fill that missing piece just a little.

Now that pumpkin patch! look at all those squashes, He walked and was surrounded by all these veggies which made his tail wag just a little as their shirt was tugged at by Usa who kept pointing at a specifc area where pumpkins for carving were being sold "Oh...that's what you wanted?"

They will get a few to carve as he used what little magic he can use to float the pumpkins home along with the eating one as Usa happily wagged her tail that she got what she wanted. Darren let out a small groan once they finally arrived home, all that magical heavy lifting had his back aching for some reason as they got to cooking while telling his lapito they'll carve after he lets the stew simmer away while they got ready to get festive.

Darren got the stew all ready to cook away while gutting pumpkins of their seeds which he saved for snacking later as he handed usa a lapito sized knife for her tiny pumpkin while he himself began to carve "try not to hurt yourself ok Usa?" They let out a soft pomf of a lapito noise it's real that's a noise they make! Both focused on the art of pumpkin crafting, so focused on their craft that only the sound of the lamba shaped cooking timer went off snapped the two out of it. "Ok food then we can finish alright?" They nodded and got carried to the table in the kitchen with their special Usa food bowl that Darren crafted out of glass for them.

They were served up a nice pumpkin cream and veggie stew with vegan fish fake meat. It smelled great as they ate in silence, the silence sometimes felt louder than when he spoke but nothing he can do about it while blowing on Usa's food to cool it slightly. After kissing her head he finally started to eat his own food while thinking about how to better carve the pumpkin.

Well after a nice hearty meal they resumed their festive fun and Usa finished first, they made a badly made carrot and lapito but looked so very proud making Darren pet her softly but his? He sat by his creation with head in hands "Usa...Maybe I should stick to just glass work" all his pumpkins were a nightmare of faces made with a hand that couldn't carve anything. Darren felt shame but Usa didn't mind one bit wanting to light up all their work, he gave her a soft smile and sighed.

"You're right, guess they don't have to be pretty" especially in such a spooky season as he put the tea light candles in them and set them outside while they spent a quiet time inside the living room reading, well Darren read while Usa looked at picture books happily, another festive day successfully done.
