Round n' Round

Heidi had been spending hours enjoying what the Hallo'Moon Fair had to offer, from checking out the game stalls to indulging herself in the offerings the food stalls had; even going for few rides around the fair much to her delight. The circus was an absolutely delight to witness!

She had saved the very best for last, the ferris wheel! The sweet cossetling had always adored the lights the wheel lit up with when the sun had set and it was so lovely dark out. It set a beautiful scene for her to remember always. Hopefully Heidi would be able to get a fellow rider in the passenger car? She lined up and waited.

Cree's hooves clicked against the stone beneath him as he bounced in barely contained excitement. He thanked the stall owner as they handed him a massive cone of cotton candy that resembled the Katte he'd brought along with him to the Hallo'Moon Faire. He smiled down at his cosprout - only to see that she was no longer right beside him. 

"Kiri?" Cree soun around, hoping to spot the bright yellow ribbon Kiri wore on her tail... and there she was, rubbing her face against the skirt of a familiar cossetling. 

Cree trotted over, taking a bite of his cotton candy. "Heidi!!"

Heidi blinked when a Katte Cosprout was rubbing against her skirt but she quickly recognized the yellow ribbon and knelt down to scratch her cheeks "Hello there Kiri where is--" She glanced up at the sound of her friend's voice and smiled brightly

"Cree!! SO good to see you here" She chimed just as her sweet cosprout, Lily popped her head out of a small bag around her waist and blinked up at Cree.

"Yeah!! I was so worried I'd have to play all by myself, so I'm really happy to see you." Cree pulled off a small piece of cotton candy for Heidi's cosprout and held the rest of the cone up for Heidi herself to take some. "Whaddya waiting in line for?"

Heidi took a piece to munch on as Lily nibbled dainty 

"Ferris wheel!!"' She pointed at the giant wheel up ahead "I've been looking forward to this all day!! It's the best at night. You want to join me?"

Cree took in the Ferris Wheel, watching the little teacup-shaped cages go around and around. "Yes!! It looks so cool; I've never been on a Ferris Wheel before." He squinted up (and up and up) at the cages. "It should fit the four of us, right? Kiri can sit in my lap, and Lily is basically attached to you as it is..."

"Perks of always carrying around a bag of some sorts" Heidi giggled as Lily tilted her head

"We'll be just fine! Look there's several more other cossetlings that has their cosprouts with them too" she pointed out everyone ahead of them in line as Lily adjusted herself in the pocket.

Cree nodded, grinning. "Yeah you're right, okay! We'd love to join you on the ferris wheel." Cree took another bite of his cotten candy. "I wonder how far we'll be able to see... I'm gonna sketch it when he get up there." He patted the pocket on his overalls where his little notebook lived.

"I've never tried actually, I was always occupied with admiring the lights and the night sky....." Heidi smiled slightly as they moved closer to the front of line "But I look forward to seeing you sketch it!" Heidi glanced down at Lily who nuzzled against her with a small smile.

"Maybe I'll try to do some embro-OH it's our turn! Come on!!" Heidi jerked up when she realized it was their turn to get onto the car.

Cree jumped slightly as Heidi exclaimed, then laughed, tail wagging. "Yay!" 

He followed the faire worker's instructions in getting himself and Kiri safely seated, and waited as Heidi did the same. 

And then they were off, slowly getting higher and - quickly stopping as the next cage filled with cossetlings eager to ride the ferris wheel. 

That was fine; Cree figured they needed to get the cotton candy eaten before they got all the way up anyways. Who knew how strong the wind would be?

Heidi shifted Lily out of her pocket and settled in her lap as she got herself safely seated; her tail tucked to the side against her. 

She reached over to help herself to some cotton candy with a soft smile as Lily curled up with a quiet purr. "I do think you'll like the view from top" she sounded rather eager and hopeful as they slowly rose to the top. "It'll be a little chilly but that's why I brought along one of my shawls!"

Cree nodded. "I should be fine in my sweater. but we can cuddle if you get cold." There was no innuendos in his voice, and Heidi knew him well enough to know it was an innocent statement. Then Cree frowned thoughtfully, and took off his hat, tucking the brim of it under his butt and fluffing up his hair afterwards. "Now we wait," Cree smiled at his friend before taking another bite of cotton candy.

Though the start of the ride was choppy, the real magic started once new cossetlings had been loaded into each cage of the ferris wheel. Then the ride became smooth as butter, and before Cree knew it they were at the top, looking over the entire fair. Though usually a talktative cosset, Cree was struck speechless, simply taking in the view until Kiri nudged his arm, reminding him to take out his sketchbook. 

Heidi smiled softly, partially to Cree but mostly to herself. This was better than she had ever imagined. The wind in her hair, she pulled her shawl a little closer around her but was content to watch the tiny cossetlings down enjoy the faire in their own ways.
