Cosette wandered along a local village nestled deep in Latorre's countryside, holding her trusty suitcase, she happily passed by the usual folks who were either busy tending to their farms, repairing their homes, or just about their daily tasks. They greeted her with warm smiles, which the traveling woman reciprocated, as she was the type of person to easily get along with anybody and everybody.
Rumble.. Rumble...
Cosette stood alone in the middle of a field, the tall grass brushing against her legs as she stared up at the dark mass gathering overhead.
Dark clouds loomed over the horizon like an ominous shadow. The sky had suddenly turned a sickly grey. It was the start of rainy season and the folks had been expecting a storm, but this one looked particularly violent.
The wind roared, the trees trembled, and a faint rumble echoed in the distance, growing louder and more powerful with each passing second. The air was thick with a sense of imminent danger, as what seemed to be a storm, continued to gather strength. Fully preparing to unleash its fury down upon Latorre's land.
"Oh no," She muttered under her breath, shifting her suitcase to her other hand and glancing back behind at the village folks. Even from here, she could see people hurrying about, closing shutters, and making sure there were no loose items outside that could be blown away.
Cosette stood in the empty field, taking a deep breath of the cool rain-scented air. Contemplating on what to do, she clutched her suitcase tightly, her palms began to sweat ever so slightly. Should she attempt to disperse the clouds herself?
She remembered her friend, Raul, telling her how to cast simple spells.. but doing is a lot harder than listening..
She looks up at the darkening sky once more, a sense of urgency building within her. The village's safety depends on her ability to chase away the clouds and prevent a dangerous storm from wreaking havoc.
With a determined expression, Cosette raises her hand and focuses her energy, chanting an incantation to disperse the clouds. However, as she casts the spell, an unexpected event occurs.Β
Suddenly, instead of dispersing, the clouds seem to become even darker and more ominous. The wind around Cosette begins to pick up.
Whoosh.. !!
A wave of panic rushes into her, biting her lip, she held onto her hat tightly with her left hand. Filled with terror, Cosette flailed her right arm, launching her beloved suitcase into the dark clouds above, a panicked shout escaped her lips.
"Eek!!"
The suitcase vanished into the dense clouds, its fate now uncertain.
The suitcase went up and up! It sailed high in the dark, disappearing into the dark puffy clouds. Cosette watches in horror upon the realization of her actions.
"No- my suitcase!!"
She cries out, desperately trying to catch a glimpse of her missing suitcase.
Peering into the dark clouds, to her surprise, was her suitcase, frozen, suspended in mid-air.
Cosette's eyes widened as she witnessed a sudden glow emanating from her floating suitcase, casting light into the darkening surroundings. The clouds slowly start to disperse, but before she can fully comprehend what is happening, the suitcase begins to descend toward her. Caught off guard, she instinctively covers her head with her arms to protect herself, closing her eyes.
Before the case could hit her head, Raul appeared out of nowhere. With a swift and confident movement, he caught the falling suitcase, stopping it just inches from Cosetteβs head.
Raul chuckled, holding the suitcase in his hand while looking at Cosette, still covering her head with her arms.
He said with a chuckle, "You know if you're trying to chase away clouds, it's usually not the best idea to throw your belongings into them."
Cosette's eyes widen momentarily in embarrassment, realizing how silly she must have looked with her arms covering her head. She quickly lowers her arms, a tinge of redness creeping into her cheeks, fixing her posture immediately.
"Well, I wasn't exactly planning on sacrificing my suitcase to the storm," she retorts, trying to justify herself, "It just sort of... slipped out of my hand."
Raul grinned, clearly enjoying her flustered state.
"Ah, the old 'slipped out of my hand' excuse. Clumsy, are we?" he teased.
Cosette rolled her eyes at Raulβs playful taunting, trying to maintain her composure.
"I'm not clumsy! I just... got a little carried away, I guess," she replied, extending her hand to take the suitcase.
Raul chuckled and handed the worn-out suitcase back to her, ruffling her now messy hair.Β
"Carried away, huh? Well, at least you didn't throw yourself into the clouds too. That would've been quite a sight."
