Impromptu Drink | Snowfall Cocktail

Elias had been silent during the entire process, the only noises being small clinking of glass and the shaking and pouring of various drink ingredients. It took a while, but not to the point where it was obnoxious. It was clear that the tall cossetling knew what he was doing. Raul's eyes moved back and forth as he watched the other work, trying to focus on what he was putting in the drink. Some ingredients were melted, others were chilled. The cossetling watching him couldn't put together what exactly he was doing.

Raul was judgemental, of course, but was curious as to what kind of drink the other cossetling would emerge with. It obviously wouldn't be anything that he'd be used to, seeing how posh and proper Elias was- no doubt the only bars he had been to were ones connected to lavish parties. Admittedly, he didn't put much respect on the bartenders so full of themselves they'd call themselves 'mixologists'.

The small thump of a glass being placed in front of Raul snapped him out of his thoughts. He stared at a drink with a dark blue base so thick that he couldn't see through the glass at all. Running down the glass were solid white swirls that faded further down the drink.

When Raul picked up the glass, there were small clicks of ice against glass, and when he looked closer, he noticed the ice was carved into spheres.

"So, what's in this thing?" Raul started, swirling the glass in his hand and looking up towards the other cossetling. In response, Elias shook his head, humming slightly before elaborating.

"Drink first, I'll tell you the ingredients as you enjoy it." Elias' words were cold and somewhat quiet, but Raul chalked that up to just being how he spoke. After all, he didn't expect a guy who looked like Elias to have an inviting voice anyways.

Raul tipped his head back, taking a sip of the drink. It was good, not his usual flavor, but definitely not bad in the slightest. It also had a bit of kick to it among the sweetness, though the only thing he could pinpoint specifically was vodka. He let out a small hum of approval, which was a cue for Elias to talk.

"The primary alcoholic component is vodka, as you could probably tell." Elias started, adjusting some bottles and seemingly starting to make another cup of the drink as he spoke. "The color comes from dyed curacao liqueur. It's added in along with sambuca."

He paused, picking up a small bowl of melted white mixture, lightly picking some up in a spoon and spreading it around the inside of the glass in front of him. "The recipe I had in mind originally called for cream, but I decided to use melted white chocolate as an alternative. Similar to an alcoholic version of chocolate oranges. Of course, the vodka alters the flavor a bit, but not enough for the immediate flavor profile to be disturbed beyond repair."

By the time Elias was finished explaining the mixture, Raul had cleaned up his glass. Small smudges of chocolate were left behind, alongside the half-melted ice. "It's good, it kind of looked like you."

The response was a small smirk, a quick one that was barely visible. "You'll find that was intentional, Raul. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Perhaps some other time you can show me the kind of drink that you prefer."

"Uh, yeah. Sure." Raul stammered a bit. Honestly he couldn't help but want to avoid the possibility of Elias trying something he made. Surely someone like him wouldn't enjoy the kind of drinks he downed. And yet, the way the other man smiled at him caused him to genuinely consider it, even if only for a moment.
