[Comm] From One Mother to Another, Need a Hand?
Lorna put up her chore apron before getting changed for the party, nothing too fancy to outshine the star but also because they might not actually own any since her sense of fashion was more down to earth. Once they were fitted, Lorna was ready to enjoy a nice festive day out! It'll take time to create a gift either way as they took a leisurely walk to the venue where the party was held "Goodness they went all out now didn't they" they commented at the size of the area. Well they did make the venue the home area of Cosette's parents and there were plenty of cossetlings already enjoying themselves, in fact they were helping decorate the scene as she spied one making paper chains to hang up along the area. Lorna kept out of the way of those busily helping with the venue's decorations "Oh hello there dear! I see you're not too busy are ya?" The merry day girl's mother was swamped with work on helping the others out "Why no ma'am since I just arrived, do you need some help?" She couldn't let the poor woman work herself to the bone on her own.
"Why I was just going to ask you for it! Aren't you just sweet as a peach! Could you help by making some tea? Any kind you see fit long as it's piping hot or cool as ice" Now that's something she was good at as they told her to take a breather while she does the tea making, Cosette's mother thanked them for the help and took a small break as given. Lorna with her hands on her hips began to think "Now what tea should I brew up?" It was starting to grow cold but at the same time the sun was still trying its best to warm them, guess she'll make two types of teas! One hot for those feeling chilly and one cold for those feeling warm. Yes that sounded just fine while going into the kitchen which was bustling with different kinds of action, a sailor suited cossetling was staring at a kettle on the stove waiting patiently. Strange fella but with a little help they found a copper kettle and a glass pitcher, the nearby barrel held the drinking water for the kitchen "Excuse me" Lorna filled both items up and set the copper kettle down by the other "Now which tea should I use for the cold one?" They used a little magic to float different varieties of tea near her to inspect "What a selection" more choices made it harder to decide on a type.
But a nice fruity tea would help those feeling warm now come and cool down, they picked out a box of oolong peach tea and began to steep a few in the pitcher filled with water, making sure the strings didn't fall into the water otherwise they'd be impossible to fish out without magic. Lorna snapped her fingers a bit causing some more of her floaty magic to get a wooden spoon to come over "Oh yes I think I can make a rather good batch with this!" She was excited to pour this into a few glasses and leave them out on the table for others to try but oh dear she almost forgot the glasses!
Lorna had her magic start stirring the pitcher once the tea bags were all steeped out and tossed out now no longer flavorful "Cups cups cups....lets see" they opened one cabinet then another, there was a kerora in one and gave her a ribbit "Hello dear do you know where the cups are?" They looked to the right and they opened the little door to find the glass cups she needed. "Thank you" She patted it's head before taking a few of the nicer looking ones, she seemed to be taken with one painted with an orange tabby katte by a plate of pasta. She'll have to ask Cosette and her mother where she got it for her own set before setting them down on a tray and carrying them out the door with a smile on her face "Ice cold tea for those feeling the heat! Now don't crowd there's enough for everyone and if not I can whip up more".
A few did come over to quench their thirst while fanning themselves, it seems like everyone felt the weather differently before spying Cosette's mom now back from her break "Oh ma'am a quick question!" They got the details of where she got her charming katte eating pasta on the glass and with a pep in her step went back to the kitchen to finish the warm tea for others feeling the chill. Lorna hummed happily as they looked at tea boxes again but it was much easier picking a warm tea since she had an idea of what to brew up but she had to see if they had milk first.
Lucky them they did! Well most everyone has milk but had to make sure they had some first before brewing as the kettle finally started to whistle "Oh watch yourself kid" they scooted the sailor suit wearing cossetling away from the stove as they have been staring at the flames the entire time watching his pot boil which still hasn't bubbled? huh? Lorna shook her head and got the tea bag ready but they'll need a ceramic pot to transfer it all. It was a lot prettier than the copper one since it was mostly used to just heat up the water than transfer the liquid and all that, no need to go over tea basics "Now for some royal milk tea" they hummed happily while prepping it, they'll have to add sugar to their own cups if they want it sweeter than normal though.
Lorna looked over the ceramic pots and found the right one for the job "Oh this is pretty too, Ellie might like this one perhaps? Maybe that one store will have some along with those silly cups" They smiled at the kerora still in the cupboard before getting the hot tea on the tray from earlier and carried it out "Hot tea! If you're feeling cold, come and have a cup!" A few gathered around and she told them not to fight over the sugar bowl since there was enough for everyone "Two types of tea hm?" Cosette's mom commented as they approached for a cup herself feeling a bit chilly but just in her hands.
Poor circulation and all that "Everyone runs at different temps, thought it'd be good for the lot of them if they had different kinds" She said with a proud little smile while pouring herself a cup and putting in a single cube of sugar just wanting it a little sweeter "Mighty thoughtful aren't ya? Well it's all appreciated nonetheless, will you be coming back tomorrow?" She gave it a thought while sipping away her drink. "No i think i will after a few days, I'll brew you any kind of tea if you ask" The two had a pleasant conversation the remainder of the day, Lorna would be going home with new info about silly cups as she gave a thoughtful hum halfway there “Oh maybe some knitted gloves? Or…hmm I hope I’m not too late in making it” What a way to end the day for the lovable Lorna.
